Reviews from Jodi's White Plains Workshops:
"Your workshop fleshed out the process of narrative therapy nicely. What I noticed in working with a partner, [during the practice sections] is that I get very excited when they start to grab hold of what has previously been invisible. It is there that I need to restrain my inclination to jump in the middle of their pool. Discipline! I enjoyed meeting you and sharing lunch. Best regards, Walter "
"It was so great to have you there – you are a great teacher! The consistent feedback I heard was that people felt inspired. I’d like to find some way of keeping a momentum going with some of the participants. And for me and my work, this time I had enough background to easily grasp the idea of the maps and to get a better sense of the flow of questions. I have had a real block around taking the more active stance that the questioning implies – but the other day it just flowed out of me and I felt quite relieved – the session went very well and the client was actively engaged answering my very gentle and respectful off-center questions! I’d like to stay in touch with you. All the best, Krister"
"I just want to tell you how good your workshop was, and how wonderful I think the work you are doing is. The outlines and questions will be useful to me as a coach, and the "way of thinking" is so aligned with coaching. You give practical tools to having the coaching conversation. I hope that we can bring you to Manhattan for a similar workshop before long..... it would be interesting to hear how you work with the other three maps that I missed. I actually think that with a little tweaking the workshop could be entirely directed to coaches and the kind of clients we typically have. You are living a set of very good stories, and I wish for you "thriving, and flourishing". Thanks again, Connie"
"It was so good to learn with you last Friday. I "jumped in" and enjoyed the opportunity to learn from you, watch your skillful conversation with our "colleague as client", and hear about your thoughts in relation to practice.
Practice. . . you gave me the opportunity to listen and then turn to
colleagues and try myself. This is wonderful. I remember Michael
saying to do this. I didn't "get it" before but now see the benefit.
Practice. . . practice. This was my biggest gift from the
training. I was
also impressed by your generosity and the skill in your conversation with
our colleague as she repositioned into the role of her client. Even during
discussion (like debrief) following the reflections and reflections on the
reflections you remained centered in a repectful place vis a vis the parents of
the child at the center of the conversation. You didn't move from this
respectful and careful place. I found that very
moving. Hope
to see you over the year ahead! June"
